The scholarship covers a wide range of expenses, including tuition, travel, living costs, and health insurance, ensuring a smooth academic and cultural experience for the recipients.

Recipients can expect to participate in cultural events and activities, engage in networking with international students and professionals, and gain exposure to the French academic, professional, and cultural environments.

Eligible Fields of Study

To align with national development goals and foster international collaboration, the scholarship focuses on specific priority sectors. Applicants must be seeking admission to a Master’s program within one of the following areas: Sciences, Agriculture, Sustainable Development (including Environment and Renewable Energy), Tourism and Leisure, Gender Studies, Economics, Engineering, Business Administration, and Sport. These disciplines have been identified as having strong potential to drive development and create impactful international partnerships.

Eligibility Requirements for Applicants

To be considered for this scholarship, candidates must meet a set of specific criteria. Primarily, applicants must be citizens of Uganda. They must also hold a Bachelor’s degree in one of the eligible fields of study before the application deadline. A crucial requirement is that applicants must either have secured admission or be able to demonstrate proof of application to a recognized French public university offering a Master’s program. It is the applicant’s responsibility to identify and apply to their preferred French university before submitting their scholarship application, as proof of this university application or admission is a mandatory part of the scholarship selection process.

Required Application Documents

Prospective applicants need to prepare and submit a specific set of documents to support their application. This includes a cover letter that outlines their academic and career aspirations. A copy of a valid identity document, such as a passport, is also required. Applicants must provide a copy of their Bachelor’s degree certificate as proof of their prior academic achievement. Crucially, proof of application or admission from a recognized French public university is mandatory. For those who have not yet received final admission, submitting evidence that their university application process has already begun will be accepted, though final proof of admission will be necessary to complete the scholarship selection.

How to Apply for the Scholarship

The application process requires applicants to compile all necessary documents into a single PDF file. This consolidated file must then be submitted via email to the designated address: [email protected]. The email should be sent to the SCAC, Service de CoopΓ©ration et d’Action Culturelle, at the Embassy of France. Applicants can expect to receive an acknowledgment email confirming that their application has been successfully received.

The Selection Process

The selection process is designed to identify the most promising candidates and involves two main stages. The first stage is an application review, where the Embassy of France in Uganda will carefully assess all submitted applications. This review will focus on academic qualifications, eligibility, and the overall suitability of candidates for the scholarship program. Candidates who successfully pass the initial review will be shortlisted and invited to the second stage, which is an interview at the Embassy of France. This interview provides an opportunity for applicants to further elaborate on their academic goals, motivations, and their readiness for postgraduate studies in France.

Application Deadline and Notification

The deadline for submitting scholarship applications is June 11, 2026, at midnight. It is strongly advised that applicants begin their university admission process as soon as possible and submit their scholarship applications well in advance of the final deadline to avoid any last-minute issues. All applicants will be informed of the outcome of the selection process by July 11, 2026. Successful candidates will receive detailed guidance regarding travel arrangements, visa procedures, enrollment at their respective universities, and the administration of their scholarship.
